Former Cubs reliever Steve Cishek is reportedly taking his talents to the other side of town.

The White Sox and Cishek agreed to terms on a one-year, $6 million guaranteed deal, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported Tuesday. The contract carries a second-year club option that could increase the deal to $12 million total, the report said.

Cishek spent the last two seasons being the workhorse of the Cubs’ bullpen. Last season, he had seven saves and posted a 2.95 ERA in 64 innings. He also spent some time on the injured list with left hip inflammation.

Overall, Cishek, a 10-year veteran, is 32-37 with a 2.69 ERA in 572 career relief appearances.

Adding Cishek to the bullpen is the latest move in what has been a productive offseason for the Sox.

After three years of rebuilding, the Sox have turned a corner by adding skilled pitch-framer Yasmani Grandal (four years, $73 million), designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion (one year, $11 million, plus a $1 million bonus) and left-handers Dallas Keuchel and Gio Gonzalez (one year, $5 million) to their young core in free agency. They also traded for 24-year-old right fielder Nomar Mazara, extended Jose Abreu for three years and $50 million and signed prized outfield prospect Luis Robert to a six-year, $50 million contract.
