Right-hander Reynaldo Lopez, who has not pitched since being removed from his first start in the first inning with a sore shoulder, will make his second start Saturday night against the Cubs.

The Sox reinstated Lopez from the injured list Saturday and optioned outfielder Nicky Delmonico to the Schaumburg training facility. Lopez is sliding into the rotation spot that has been held down by left-hander Gio Gonzalez, who might pitch in relief of Lopez.

“Absolutely, that’s a possibility,” manager Rick Renteria said Friday.

López, 26, lasted only 23 of an inning in his first start July 26 against the Twins.
