Residents in West Belfast have returned to their homes after a security alert this morning led to multiple evacuations.
Police were alerted to the suspicious device shortly before 9am in the White Rise area of Lagmore on December 19.
It is understood that a window of the vehicle had been smashed and a suspicious object discovered inside the vehicle.
Officers accompanied ATO to the scene before declaring the discovery a "viable explosive device".
A PSNI Spokesperson said: "Police attended and closed White Rise and evacuated a number residents.
"The device has been made safe and removed for further examination and residents permitted back to their homes.
"Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the White Rise area overnight and who may have noticed any suspicious activity or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact them in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference 312 19/12/19."
Police say people can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
