White Moose Cafe owner says customers will undergo 'palm reading' to eat indoors

The owner of White Moose Cafe has said that customers will have to undergo "palm reading" to dine indoors.

The popular Dublin cafe will ask guests to show their palms instead of their vaccine certs to eat and drink inside.

The new legislation approved by the Cabinet will allow people who are vaccinated or have recently recovered from COVID-19 to dine indoors from next week.

Paul Stenson said on Facebook: "Today our Government signed off on legislation allowing only fully vaccinated people to dine indoors from next week.

"Our in house hotel guests have been eating inside since 2nd June, but now only people who have received the jab will be afforded this privilege. So, we are happy to play ball on this.

"As soon as the law is passed, we will be asking our guests to show us the palm of their hand when they arrive, once we read their palm, we will then give them a wink and a nod and they’ll be granted access to eat indoors."

Paul added: "If anyone comes to your table asking you to show them proof of a vaccine, you can tell them you’ve passed the palm-reading test, and you can use said palm to give them a smack across the head.

"We look forward to reading your palms next week! Warmest regards, Mystic Paulie

"P.S. Discrimination is not something you will see in the White Moose. The day we allow discrimination is the day I’ll be six feet under. Go raibh maith agaibh."
