White House Stands Firm On Aid To Israel

white house

The White House reaffirmed its stance on Monday regarding aid to Israel, stating that President Joe Biden will not accept a standalone funding bill for this purpose. This comes in response to suggestions from some House Republicans to pass additional funding in light of recent attacks by Iran.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized the importance of a bipartisan national security supplemental bill that had previously passed in the Senate with a significant majority of 70-29. The White House believes that if this bill were brought to the House floor, it would also receive overwhelming support.

However, the House has not yet taken a vote on the Senate-approved legislation, which includes funding not only for Israel but also for Ukraine and Taiwan. The delay in the House is partly due to opposition from many House conservatives who are against providing further aid to Ukraine. They are pushing for stricter US southern border policies to be included in any aid package.
