THE Wall Street Journal is being removed from the press pool covering the US president’s weekend trip to Scotland after they reported Donald Trump allegedly sent a sexually suggestive message to Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump is expected to visit Scotland this weekend on a trip to his golf courses on the Menie and Turnberry estates, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer due to meet with him in Aberdeen.
Wall Street Journal White House reporter Tarini Parti had been scheduled to serve as the print pooler for the last two days of Trump’s four-day trip to Scotland.
But she has been removed from the trip, with White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt (above) stating: “As the appeals court confirmed, the Wall Street Journal or any other news outlet are not guaranteed special access to cover President Trump in the Oval Office, aboard Air Force One, and in his private workspaces.
“Due to the Wall Street Journal’s fake and defamatory conduct, they will not be one of the 13 outlets on board.
"Every news organisation in the entire world wishes to cover President Trump, and the White House has taken significant steps to include as many voices as possible.”
Parti was not one of the two bylines on the Epstein article which alleged that Trump contributed a crude drawing of a naked woman and a suggestive message to a birthday album for Epstein in 2003, compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2021 for sex trafficking and related crimes.
According to the WSJ, the sketch featured a pair of small arcs to represent breasts, with Trump’s signature positioned beneath the waist to resemble pubic hair.
The note reportedly ended with the line, “Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret”.
Trump has denied sending the letter and insists the document is a fabrication.
Most recently, Trump brought legal action against the Journal.
