White House Farm viewers left frustrated as adverts 'ruin' first episode

Viewers tuned in to ITV on Wednesday night to watch new drama White House Farm, based on a true story.

The new six-part series looks into the fateful night in August 1985, when five members of a family were murdered in their home.

Daughter Sheila was initially accused of killing her parents, two young sons and then herself, but it was her brother Jeremy Bamber who would later be accused and convicted of the murders and framing his adoptive sister.

The new drama follows the investigation into the tragic event, through research, accounts and interviews.

Viewers had been left gripped within minutes of the series beginning, with them seeing the days and then hours leading up to the five deaths.

Episode one also saw the start of the investigation from the moment the police were called, to the bodies being found.

But as the episode went on, viewers confessed they were growing annoyed by the amount of advert breaks in-between show parts.

Taking to Twitter , some fans even threatened to switch off as they felt the drama was being affected by the constant breaks.

This was echoed by another viewer who said: "Any need for adverts?"

Other viewers were too gripped to be put off by the ads, confessing within minutes they had "goosebumps".

One viewer commented: "Tuned in and watching.. knowing this is based on true events has already given me goosebumps!"

White House Farm continues next Wednesday at 9pm on ITV.
