Nov. 13--First there was White Castle stuffing -- a homespun Midwestern cult dish in which mashed up Sliders are mixed with celery and herbs and stuffed into the cavity of a Thanksgiving turkey.
Now the bite-sized burger chain has cut out the middleman and created a mashup of its own.
Introduced this week, three varieties of Turkey Sliders allow busy holiday season eaters to avoid the inconvenience of filling a giant raw bird with torn up pieces of hamburger, efficiently delivering miniature simulacra of a Thanksgiving meal.
The Turkey Sliders come in three versions. There's the Turkey Dinner Slider, which tops a Butterball turkey burger with sweet potato waffle fries and cranberry sauce on a White Castle bun; the Cranberry Turkey Slider, which nixes the waffle fries; and the Bistro Turkey Slider, which features what White Castle is calling "tangy Bistro sauce."
"The Turkey Slider trio is perfect for the busy craver on the go who wants to enjoy the taste and flavors of the holiday season," Jamie Richardson, vice president of Columbus, Ohio-based White Castle, said in a news release. "It doesn't matter if you are headed to a football game, family outing or preparing to cash in on the bargains of Black Friday, White Castle has your holiday feast conveniently placed on a sandwich bun, to take with you wherever you go."
Bon appetit!
