Whitby Gazette stands atop the world

A climber who conquered Everest marked his success by being pictured on top of the mountain with a copy of the Whitby Gazette. Alistair Sutcliffe was showing his appreciation for the paper because it kick-started his fund-raising appeal on behalf of a local hospice. Editor Damian Holmes said: "He has helped put the Whitby Gazette on the top of the world - where it obviously belongs". (Via whitbytoday.co.uk)
