Whitburn superstar Lewis Capaldi comes home to play one-off gig

Lewis Capaldi returned to West Lothian to play a live gig in his parent’s house.

The Whitburn superstar performed the special live stream to commemorate the one year anniversary of his debut album ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’.

Lewis hosted the acoustic show in support of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) - a movement against suicide - on Saturday, May 16, at 8pm, exactly one year on since the album’s original release.

Fans were treated to a performance of his debut album in its entirety, including hit singles, ‘Grace’, ‘Bruises’, Hold Me While You Wait’ and the number one, platinum-selling, hit single,‘Someone You Loved’ which received an award for Song of the Year at the 2020 BRIT Awards.

Commenting before the show, Lewis said: “Can’t believe my debut album is a year old next week!!! Absolutely buzzing to be performing it and raising money for the incredible CALM who are doing some amazing things for mental health in the UK and beyond.”

Having spent nine weeks in total at number one, Lewis Capaldi’s debut album ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’ became the biggest selling album of last year, certifying platinum in just 10 weeks and is currently the biggest selling album of this year.

It has now certified triple platinum, with sales fast approaching a million copies. Since its release a year ago, it has never left the top 10.
