Whiskey Live Dublin: Here’s what to expect from the Dublin Liberties Distillery this weekend

Dublin’s Liberties district is now known as the home of Guinness, but until about 100 years ago it was also a hub for Irish whiskey production, with nearly 40 distillers working in the area at one point.

Fast-forward to today, and the area is once more becoming renowned for its whiskey, having gone from zero to four distilleries in the last five years! One of these is the aptly-named Dublin Liberties Distillery, whose portfolio includes The Dubliner and its delicious honeycomb liqueur sidekick, as well as a range of fantastic blends and single malts.

Dublin Liberties have had a fantastic presence at previous Whiskey Live events, and this year promises to be no different, as they will be bringing along the aforementioned staples of their range, but also some of their rarer and more exclusive bottles.

This year, visitors to Whiskey Live Dublin can expect to see the full range of Dublin Liberties whiskey, including:

  • Oak Devil 5 Year Old Blend
  • Copper Alley 10 Year Old Single Malt
  • Murder Lane 13 Year Old Single Malt
  • Keeper’s Coin 16 Year Old Single Malt
  • The Dubliner Whiskey Beer Cask Series
  • The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey

Dublin Liberties Master Distiller Darryl McNally will also be leading a masterclass, giving a guided tour through Dublin Liberties’ new make spirit, all the way up to Keeper’s Coin, which took a gold medal at this year’s Irish Whiskey Awards.

Speaking on the forthcoming Distilled podcast, McNally said, “We’ll be talking about the whole range, but with the masterclass, it’s good to just sort of kick off the shoes and start talking everything whiskey. It’s a chance for people to ask questions that they wouldn’t normally get to ask you - it’s great, and I just love them!”

Whiskey Live Dublin takes place on Friday, November 22, and Saturday, November 23, with tickets priced at €44, plus booking fee, from whiskeylivedublin.com

Friday's event runs from 6pm-9.30pm, while Saturday will have an afternoon session from 1pm-4.30pm and an evening session from 5.30pm-9pm.
