While asked about being outscored in the first quarter, Bill Belichick has on-brand response

With the pandemic and crazy circumstances in 2020, Bill Belichick has seemed to tone down his facetious responses to the media.

He’s been more elaborate with details regarding players’ injuries and it’s possible his 78 years of life experience softened him up a little bit. Regardless, it’s been a difficult season for the New England Patriots (5-6), especially with the Buffalo Bills (8-3) and Miami Dolphins (7-4) leading the division.

One of the biggest concerns this season has been the lack of offensive scoring in the first quarter. The Patriots have been outscored 56-21 in the first quarter this year and it’s kept them at a disadvantage to begin most games.

Belichick was asked about the slow start and he had a vintage answer.

The Patriots just defeated the Arizona Cardinals and they have the Los Angeles Chargers next. A playoff bid isn’t likely, but it’s still possible for Belichick’s squad.
