Which underclassmen benefit the most from new College All-Star Game rules?

On Wednesday, a new rule was implemented that would allow underclassmen players to participate in college all-star games. This is big news for players from across the country who could now prepare for something like the Senior Bowl to help boost their draft stock. Let’s take a look at the four players who benefit the most from this rule change.

1. Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State

Penn State offensive lineman Olumuyiwa Fashanu

There is going to be a bit of a theme on this list that readers will pick up on right way; prospects with tremendous upside that may be a bit raw or lack a ton of experience. Olumuyiwa Fashanu is about as physically gifted as they come and has the potential to be the best offensive lineman in this class. Fashanu plays with a bit of inconsistency and will need to tweak a few parts of his game in order to transition smoothly into the pros.

Scouts at these all-star games are going to salivate when they get a first hand look at the potential Fashanu brings, and they will get a feel for what work needs to be done on a prospect that has shown a ton of improvement already.

2. Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State

Just like the offensive tackle listed before him, Jared Verse has the potential to walk away from this class as the best edge rusher. Verse has an immense physical skillset that pops off the tape and is waiting to be unleashed at the next level. Verse hasn’t quite had the production scouts were looking for, but the ability to see that potential first hand and get an understanding for how they can help the young edge rusher may just boost his draft stock into the top ten.

3. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

We know that Deion Sanders has stated that Shedeur Sanders will likely enter the 2025 draft, but after watching the games where he continuously gets pummeled behind a putrid offensive line makes you think otherwise. Sanders will get a more unique benefit of being able to play with talent that matches what he will see in the pros and be able to showcase everything he can do behind a stable line with plenty of weapons. If Sanders can pop off even more with NFL level talent, we could be talking about a top five draft pick very quickly.

4. Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

NFL teams are always desperate for speed, and Xavier Worthy has that in spades. With the ability to show off everything this speedster can do for a passing attack displayed in front of scouts every day of practice during all-star games, it becomes easier to see how it will translate into their offense. Worthy does need some work on multiple facets of his game still, and like the others on his list he will only benefit should he opt into some of the all-star games in the future.
