The Pittsburgh Steelers went into the 2019 offseason with very clear roster needs. Pittsburgh needed a wide receiver, cornerback and inside linebacker. The Steelers made a point to sign one of each in the first wave of free agency.
But which guy will have the biggest impact this season? For cornerback Steven Nelson, he’s coming into start next to Joe Haden and wash the taste of the Artie Burns experiment out of everyone’s mouths. Nelson has a ton of experience and should really benefit from having Haden on the other side.
Then you have wide receiver Donte Moncrief. He’s not going to replace the production of Antonio Brown but could really rack up numbers if JuJu Smith-Schuster begins to draw more and more coverage. Finally, we get linebacker Mark Barron who comes in with the confidence he’s not coming off the field. This would be tremendous if he and Vince Williams could pair up and not force the defense to play so much nickel and dime.
