Which sports stars are running London Marathon 2026 today?

Some of your favourite sporting stars will take to the start line of today’s London Marathon.

From footballers to cricket legends, there will be famous faces running the streets of the capital hoping to clock a good time and raise funds for their respective charities.

Last year, Jack Wilshere, John Terry and Leonardo Bonucci all laced up to take on the 42.2km distance, while Olympic cyclist Sir Jason Kenny, who holds the British record for the most Olympic gold medals (7)- and total medals (9).

Today, though, there are two former Arsenal legends lining up in Blackheath.

Tony Adams, the ex-Gunners captain, will be running for ‘Chair of the Forward Trust’, an addiction and disadvantage charity, while Aaron Ramsey, who recently announced his retirement from the game, makes his marathon debut for cancer cause ‘It’s Never You’.

Four-time Olympic sailing gold-medallist Sir Ben Ainslie takes on the marathon distance for the first time, and four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel will also swap his car for his legs on the London tarmac.

Sir Alastair Cook, the former England cricket captain, runs the race once more having competed last year alongisde his former team-mate and friend Sir Andrew Strauss.

Legendary horse jockey Sir AP McCoy will also be racing, and former British Winter Olympian Aimee Fuller, the snowboarder, hits the streets not the slopes.

Dame Laura Kenny, Jason’s wife and Britain’s leading female Olympic medallist, will run having had to defer her place from last year having fallen pregnant with her third child.

Former Olympic cyclists Dani King and Chris Newton are running, as too is former goalkeeper Darren Randolph, who played for Middlesbrough and Birmingham City among other clubs.

Andy Murray’s mixed doubles partner at London 2012, Laura Robson will also take to the start line. Lee Grant, formerly of Manchester United and Derby County, is also registered to race.
