Soaps have firmly established themselves as a telly favourite for millions of viewers, but after digging around on social media threads and various forums, UKTV Play spotted a trend for the top baby names in 2020 that have been influenced by your favourite soaps.
The on-demand service analysed ONS baby name data from 1996 to 2018 (latest data available) and threads on Mumsnet to see which soap characters have had the most input on this year's baby names.
The study evaluated the top 10 names for gender-neutral, female and male babies in 2020 and the results show some soap star trends alongside some more traditional names.

Bobby, Billie and Keanu were revealed as the top 2020 baby names influenced by TV soaps, with Eve becoming the second most popular girls name after Eve Jenson from Emmerdale. Eastenders and Emmerdale and Eastenders dominate the table with four names each from both soaps influencing baby names.
