The much-anticipated IPL 2026 final is all set, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) taking on Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 31. The high-voltage clash will begin at 7:30 PM IST.
Bowlers With Most Purple Cap Wins in IPL
The Purple Cap, presented to the leading wicket-taker in every IPL season, has been dominated by some exceptional bowlers over the years.

Sohail Tanvir set the tone in the inaugural 2008 season, picking up 22 wickets for Rajasthan Royals. He was followed by RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha, who clinched the honour in 2009 and 2010 respectively while representing Deccan Chargers.
Lasith Malinga delivered a stellar performance in 2011, claiming 28 wickets for Mumbai Indians, while Morne Morkel topped the charts in 2012 for Delhi Daredevils.
Dwayne Bravo emerged as one of the most successful bowlers in the tournament, winning the Purple Cap twice, in 2013 and 2015, for Chennai Super Kings. In between, Mohit Sharma secured the award in 2014.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar also achieved back-to-back wins in 2016 and 2017 for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In recent seasons, bowlers like Andrew Tye, Imran Tahir, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami, and Prasidh Krishna have featured among the top wicket-takers, while the winner for the 2026 edition is yet to be determined.
