There are really three big events on the Pittsburgh Steelers calendar and we are all anxiously watching the clock to figure out when these three shoes drop. The Steelers are hoping to trade wide receiver Antonio Brown, get quarterback Ben Roethlisberger signed to an extension and finally see where running back Le’Veon Bell signs. So our question to you is which one happens first?
Two days ago I’d have said Brown being traded was a lock to be the next big event. But with Brown already sabotaging one trade, it’s hard to know just how long it will be before Pittsburgh can find a trade partner willing to take on all that baggage and Brown will actually play for.
March 13 is the first day Bell can sign elsewhere but you have to believe he’s going to visit several teams and make a huge spectacle of it like he does everything else. He could create his own bidding war and drag this out as long as possible just for the sake of attention.
Finally, we have a new contract extension for Roethlisberger. This one might be the easiest but Pittsburgh might hold out until after the Brown trade happens and the Steelers have a better picture of their salary cap.
