Every week we ponder which member of the opposing team we would want on the Pittsburgh Steelers for the week. This week the Steelers are squaring off with the 1-0 Las Vegas Raiders in their first home game of the season after Las Vegas upset the Baltimore Ravens in Week One.
Typically, an exercise like this is a project of narrowing down a list of several potential options to one. This week, it’s more simple than that. Many of the Raiders best players have counterparts on the Steelers at the same position.
So it comes down to just one name. Las Vegas tight end Darren Waller. Waller is on a very short list of the top tight ends in the NFL and the top weapon Las Vegas has. Even if he wouldn’t be targeted 20 times like he will be on Sunday if he played for Pittsburgh, not having him on the Raiders would cripple their offense.
