Which London restaurants, cafes and supermarkets offer free or discount meals for kids?

As the cost of living crisis continues to put pressure on Brits across the nation, families are finding themselves looking for ways to make ends meet.

One of the major household costs that parents have to take into account is finding nutritious and filling yet affordable meals for their little ones.

Just in time for the summer holidays, a number of restaurants, supermarkets, and cafes across the capital have revealed their promotions offering children free or heavily discounted meals.

Here are all the London eateries you can stop by with your children for a meal that’s easy on the family purse.

Asda

Asda’s 205 cafes across the nation, including those in London, will be offering kids £1 meals throughout the summer holidays.

The deal, which will run until the end of the year, will offer chicken nuggets, chips and baked beans or jacket potato with cheese alongside a fruit.

Little ones will also be able to opt for a sandwich, a drink, a piece of fruit, and a treat item should they prefer a cold meal.

There is no adult minimum spend to get the deal, so parents won’t have to buy anything else to access the £1 meal deal for their kids.

Tesco

Tesco is offering adults who pay as little as 60p for an item and have a Clubcard across its 310 cafes, a free kids meal over the summer holidays.

The scheme will run on weekdays between July 24 and September 1.

M&S

M&S Cafe is also bringing back its Kids Eay Free offer this summer between July 24 and September 1.

All parents need to do to access the offer is spend £5 or more in the cafe. Then you can get your child a £4 Kids Munch Menu, which includes one main such as cheesy tomato pasta, one snack like carrot sticks, and a drink for free.

Morrisons

The supermarket chains’ cafes will gift adults who spend over £4.49 a free kids’ meal throughout the day. Plus, the age limit for Morrisons’ deal is noticeably higher than some of the other ones, giving youngsters up to 15 years old to make use of the offer.

The meal will include fish fingers and chips, mac and cheese, or bangers and mash.

Brewers Fayre

Brewers Fayre restaurants are offering two kids under the age of 16 free breakfast as long as they are accompanied by one fully paying adult.

The chain of pub eateries offers unlimited buffet breakfasts for £9.99, so for that price, families can bag three breakfasts with unlimited drinks.

TGI Fridays

The high street favourite TGI Fridays is giving a free kids meal with every adult meal this summer. All you will have to do is join the restaurant chain’s rewards programme Stripes Rewards for free.

The free kids’ meal will include a variety of options ranging from chicken burgers and hotdogs to chicken tenders.

Prezzo

For families that are fancying a bit of Italian, Prezzo has teamed up with Mumsnet to offer paying adults who order a main a free, three-course meal for their child aged under 12. All you’ll need to do is let your waiter know that you will be using the offer when you’re ordering your food.

Unfortunately, the Prezzos in King’s Cross Station, Glass House Street, St Martins Lane, Euston, and Northumberland Avenue are excluded from the deal.

Dobbies Garden Centres

The popular garden centre chain is offering one free meal with any adult main meal that costs between £9 and £12.

Kids can have their pick between the breakfast and the lunch menu, or they can opt for a pick-n-mix lunch box.

Unfortunately, the deal is only valid at their major stores, and excludes the “Little Dobbies” locations.

Hungry Horse

The Greene King eatery is offering families of four an all-you-can-eat deal for £15 until September 3.

Plus, for those who aren’t a family of four, Hungry Horse is offering an adult Pub Classic meal and a kids’ meal for £10 in total.

Bella Italia

Adults who purchase a Bella Italia main meal between 4 pm and 6pm from Monday to Thursday, will get to feed their little one for £1. The £1 meal deal will include a three-course meal and a drink for children up to 11.

Outside of the set hours, children’s three-course meals with a drink will be sold for £6.49.

Ikea

Apart from its flat-packed furniture, Ikea is known for its eateries and famous Swedish meatballs.

Those who stop by an Ikea before August 31 will be able to bag their children a meal for 95p in selected cafes.

Bills

Between July 24 and September 1, any adult who orders a main dish will be able to get a free meal for their two kids, excluding Saturdays and Sundays.

Gordon Ramsay Restaurants

Children under 8 will be given a free meal across Gordon Ramsay restaurants as long as they have an adult ordering from the a la carte menu.

From Heddon Street Kitchen and Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill to Pizza East and Breast Street Kitchen & Bars, the offer will be available across all London locations.

The Real Greek

Youngsters under the age of 12 will be able to eat for free at The Real Greek on Sundays across London.

All parents need to do is spend £10 or more. Then, their little ones can pick between a meze selection or a souvlaki wrap for their main, a drink, and a dessert.
