Which is the 'most Manchester' part of Manchester?

Manchester is known for our two football clubs, the Arndale Centre and the Northern Quarter - but the tourist spots aren’t really a reflection of what life is like.

To most people, the centre of town doesn’t really reflect the realities of their daily lives, and actually life in the suburbs can be more representative of reality.

The Reach Data Unit have crunched the numbers to find out which neighbourhoods truly epitomize the towns they are situated in.

They looked at data on crime, house prices, income, education and training, and the age and gender of residents. They then ranked every neighbourhood in England and Wales by how similar it was to its council area.

What the 2019 local elections could mean for Greater Manchester's leadership

You can find out how much your neighbourhood represents your town by typing your postcode into our interactive gadget below.

Afterwards, you can then click through to see the neighbourhood that best sums up where you live - and the results may surprise you.

According to our data, the area which represents Manchester the most is this part of Levenshulme in the south east of the city which includes Nutsford Vale and Greenbank Park.

But of course, you might disagree!

The neighbourhood boundaries are defined by the Office For National Statistics.

Each one is designed to contain at least 1,000 people - with the average population being 1,500.
