Which horse won the Grand National in 2018?

It's a mega weekend for sport - six Premier League fixtures, two FA Cup semi-finals and the Grand National .

The big race begins at 5:15pm on Saturday 6 April from Aintree and will be broadcast live on ITV.

Tiger Roll is looking to secure back-to-back victories for the first time since Red Rum in 1973 and 1974.

The horse was the victor last year, trained by Gordon Elliott, who also won with Silver Birch in 2007.

Elliott has a record 13 contenders in the top 40.

By train

To get to Aintree via train, it will take one change, a short walk and about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Leaving from Manchester Piccadilly , Oxford Road and Victoria , you need to head first to Liverpool Lime Street.

Once you are there, take a short walk to Liverpool Central where you can catch a train to Aintree.

A return ticket for the day will cost around £12.60.

By coach and bus

Coaches from Manchester coach station to Liverpool One bus station take roughly 1 hour 25 minutes and will cost you around £10 for a return ticket.

Coaches run at least once every hour throughout the day.

Upon arriving in Liverpool, you can reach Aintree by bus on services: 300, 311, 345, 350 and 351 which will be travelling to and from the racecourse regularly.

By car

Parking is available at Aintree for a fee, but spaces are limited and must be booked in advance by calling 0844 5793001.

It's far better to leave the car at home if you can, so you can enjoy a Pimms or two, but if you are driving, the full address for your sat nav is: Aintree Racecourse, Ormskirk Road, Aintree, Liverpool, L9 5AS.
