Which horse is Rachael Blackmore riding in the Irish Grand National today?

Rachael Blackmore will aim to add a victory in the Irish Grand National to her long list of achievements when she partners Amirite in the big race on Easter Monday.

The Tipperary jockey made history by becoming the first female to win the Grand National at Aintree when she guided Minella Times to success in 2021.

But she would love to add a win in the Irish equivalent to her ever-growing CV.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained Amirite has been attracting plenty of support ahead of the 3m5f contest and is vying for favouritism with Stumptown and ante-post market leader Thedevilscoachman.

The seven-year-old was last seen finishing third behind Thedevilscoachman over 3m1f and his connections will be hoping that the step up in trip can bring about improvement.

If Blackmore was to taste victory today, it would come exactly two years after her win on Minella Times at Aintree.

Speaking after that success, Blackmore said: “I don’t feel male or female. I don’t even feel human, I feel unbelievable.

“You need so much luck to get around with no-one else interfering first of all. You need so much to go right and things went right for me today.

“I feel so incredibly lucky. It is unbelievable, I’m just so thrilled.”
