Which Giants games could be shown in primetime this season?

The New York Giants, regardless of where they are in the NFC East standings, are always a great television draw. Even with having won just 12 games over the past three seasons, the networks manage to feature them at least three times in primetime.

So, let’s figure that will happen again in 2020. Which three games (and a possible fourth) could be candidates for the entire nation to see?

Giants at Dallas Cowboys

Why? Because it’s already become as annual as the Thanksgiving Day game in Dallas. When the Giants come to town, Cowboys fans can expect a national audience to come along with them.

The backstory of Jason Garrett, now the Giants’ offensive coordinator, returning to Dallas for the first time is also too irresistible to pass up.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Giants

The league wants to get Tampa Bay and their high-flying offense led by Tom Brady in the national spotlight as much as possible and thank God they retooled their uniforms for the occasion.

Nothing says fun more than Tom Brady facing the Giants and several of his old coaches (Joe Judge, Patrick Graham, Jerry Shuplinski, Bret Bielema). Brady is a player that New York has loved to boo, and he won’t be greeted with open arms for this contest, even in new duds.

Cleveland Browns at Giants

You thought I forgot, didn’t you? No way the NFL blows the opportunity to put Odell Beckham Jr. versus the New York Giants in MetLife Stadium on national television.

No way.

Not only will Beckham come back to the place where he became a household name, he’ll be going up against his former Browns head coach in Freddie Kitchens, who is now on the Giants’ coaching staff.

Bonus game: Giants vs Washington or Philadelphia

The Giants-Redskins matchup will be interesting for several reasons: two new head coaches (Joe Judge and Ron Rivera) will face off for the first time, as will rookies Andrew Thomas and Chase Young. There is also the Daniel Jones-Dwayne Haskins angle to play up as well.

Some of the NFL’s most memorable moments have come in games between the Giants and Eagles and the networks never want to miss out on the craziness that might ensue when these two teams play one another.
