The Bank of England is asking the public to nominate a new face to go on the £20 note. The currency currently features the economist Adam Smith, but will be changing over to a new design in the next three years. The plan is for the note to feature an artist, which could mean an architect, a potter, a craftsperson or a painter. The governor of the Bank of England urged people to consider artists: “beyond the most obvious and most famous”. He added that they would also have to be deceased.
