Which countries are on the red list? Covid travel rules explained

The UK's Covid travel rules continue to change with another major alteration expected any day.

Nevertheless, half-term is approaching, and many people are gazing to the horizon dreaming about one last sunny getaway before winter arrives.

With that in mind, we thought we'd remind you of the travel lists as they are at present.

Bear in mind, however, that new rules come in to force on Monday (October 4) - though the red list countries themselves will not change. Then on October 7 or 8, more changes will be announced, with red list changes possible.

When you get to England, you must quarantine in a managed and government-approved hotel for 10 days. This is the same regardless of your vaccination status.
