Every sports team experiences ups and downs throughout its season, but the main point is whether it can get back on track. This is especially true for fan favourites who don’t perform well in the early season, but are able to claw their way back up the table. If you’re wondering which of your favorite college teams have been able to accomplish that feat recently, you’re in luck.
Today’s piece is all about top-tier teams who faced a rough start to the season but have bounced back in the offseason. Be it because of an injured star player or just bad luck, we’re here to see them redeem themselves to the fullest.
Florida State Seminoles
Florida State is our first and closest contender for the top spot, a team that is expected to show significant improvement this season. The 2024 season for the Seminoles was a bust, going 2-10 by the end. Fans were looking not just at their performance, but also at their staffing changes.
Florida State got a near-complete overhaul, from the front office to the team’s roster. They’re now looking at their new QB, Thomas Castellanos, to lead them to victory. With a new offensive lineup and better receivers as well, Florida State is all set to dominate the field.
LSU Tigers
After missing their chance to play in the National Championship playoffs because of the loss to Notre Dame, the team is ready to get back up and reclaim its rightful spot. Watching the failing defense of LSU has been hard, which is why coach Brian Kelly is focusing heavily on the defensive line this trade season.
FSU transfer Patrick Payton is headlining the transfers to LSU, followed by other big names like Mansoor Delane and WR Brian Brown for Kentucky. While LSU is looking to solidify its defense, the offensive line hasn’t been ignored either. This gives fans hope of a redemption arc coming up this season.
Auburn Tigers
The Auburn Tigers are our final team on the list, and one that was expected the most. It was well-known amongst the College Football camaraderie that the Tigers were about to go all-out in 2025. With the funds they had, the Auburn Tigers had quite a successful transfer window last season, picking up several talented young individuals for the upcoming season.
Their new QB, Jackson Arnold, is set to showcase his skills in the 2025 season, backed up by top WR Eric Singleton. They also brought in TE Preston Howard from Maryland, someone we’ve got our eye on. The 2025 season should be one where we see great improvement from the Tigers, because they’re definitely about to give it all they’ve got.
