Which Chinese zodiac animal sign are you and what does it all mean

Chinese New Year is officially upon us and many will be wanting to find out more about it - including their Chinese zodiac sign.

Liverpool’s celebrations take place on Sunday, January 26 with aerial demonstration, family workshops, a fairground and parades planned throughout the day.

This year the celebrations start from 11am and include a firecracker display, flower drums and dance shows by Movema and martial arts demonstrations.

Generally, the Chinese New Year date changes every year, because it is based on the lunar calendar.

Chinese New Year officially falls today, January 25, as the celebrations typically fall on the second new moon after the winter solstice - the shortest day of the year.

The Chinese calendar assigns different animals from the zodiac to each lunar year in a 12 year cycle, and this year is the Year of the Rat.
