Which British players are still playing at Wimbledon?

Wimbledon 2025 is well and truly underway, with plenty of Britons still in action as day three begins in SW19.

There was a total of 23 Brits - the most since 1984 - competing across the men’s and women’s singles this year, including several teenagers, with 10 making it through to the second round.

That’s the joint-best tally by the home crowd at Wimbledon since a dozen Britons reached the same stage back in 1976.

Three booked their tickets to round two on Tuesday, following a barnstorming opening day in which seven British players won their opening round encounters.

Here is a list of every Brit still fighting for the Wimbledon singles titles this year, in order of their current world ranking.

Jack Draper

The highest-ranked British player in the world, Jack Draper breezed into the second round after first opponent Sebastian Baez retired at two sets down.

Coming into this year’s tournament at a lofty world No4, Draper is a genuine title contender having beaten both the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and his likeliest challenger, world No1 Jannik Sinner, before.

He won’t face either man until at least the semi-finals at Wimbledon, but the 23-year-old British number one has been handed a bit of a tricky draw even before that point. His best previous finish at Wimbledon was the second round - in both 2022 and 2024 - and will have to best 2017 Wimbledon finalist Marin Cilic to improve on that.

Emma Raducanu

An encouraging few months have seen Emma Raducanu jump back up to British number one and 40th in the world rankings.

The 22-year-old is very at home on grass and beat fellow Brit Mimi Xu in straight sets in the first round, but has a relatively tough draw from this point on. She’s back on Centre Court on Wednesday for day three, taking on 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova.

Raducanu did beat Vondrousova in the second round in 2021, going on to reach the fourth round - her farthest run at SW19, jointly with 2024 - that year as an 18-year-old before clinching the US Open title a few weeks later.

If she makes it past the Czech star, she could take on world No1 Aryna Sabalenka in the third round.

Katie Boulter

Slipping to 43rd in the world and an unseeded entry place here after an up and down start to the year, Katie Boulter next faces Argentine Solana Sierra for a place in the third round.

The 28-year-old has made it to that stage at Wimbledon twice before, in 2022 and 2023.

And she will likely be confident of doing so again after getting the better of world No9 Paula Badosa on Centre Court in round one.

Sonay Kartal

World No51 Sonay Kartal got this year’s British contingent off to a flying start on Monday by beating 20th seed Jelena Ostapenko.

The 23-year-old has made huge strides since reaching the third round of Wimbledon as a qualifier last summer, including winning a first WTA Tour title.

Kartal now faces Viktoriya Tomova, currently ranked 111th in the world, in round two.

Cameron Norrie

Former British number one Cameron Norrie trumped Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in round one to book a second-round match-up with Frances Tiafoe.

Norrie may have his work cut out to beat the current world No12, but there have been plenty of upsets already at Wimbledon this year and the 29-year-old was a semi-finalist at SW19 just two summers ago before beating Draper in the second round here the following year.

If he can get past Tiafoe, one of Jiri Lehecka (world No25) or Mattia Bellucci awaits for Norrie.

Billy Harris

30-year-old Billy Harris made his Wimbledon debut last year as a wild card, and entered the main draw of a Grand Slam on ranking for the first time here.

Ranked 151st in the world coming into the tournament, Harris beat Dusan Lajovic in this year’s opening round to reach the second round at SW19 for the first time.

He’s up against Portugal’s Nuno Borges for a ticket to round three.

Dan Evans

Another former British number one, Dan Evans made his 10th main-draw appearance here as a wildcard.

The 35-year-old is world No154 at the moment, but ousted fellow British wildcard Jay Clarke in straight sets in round one to set up an enticing second round showdown with Novak Djokovic.

Evans - who has made it to the fourth round at Wimbledon before and the third round on three occasions, but progressed to the second round for the first time since 2021 - has beaten the seven-time champion of this tournament the only time the two faced each other previously.

Jack Pinnington Jones

Jack Pinnington Jones became the 10th and final Brit to reach the second round this year by beating Tomas Martin Etcheverry on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old college athlete at Texas Christian University - also a one-time home to both Norrie and round one casualty Jacob Fearnley - is ranked just 281st in the world, but saw off the Argentine who is currently world No53.

Next up for Pinnington Jones, who reached the second round of Wimbledon in 2022, is Italy’s Flavio Cobolli, the world No22.

Arthur Fery

One of several Brits to produce an upset victory on day one at Wimbledon, Arthur Fery saw off 20th seed Alexei Popyrin on Monday.

The 22-year-old is making his third Wimbledon appearance and was ranked 461st in the world before the action got underway in SW19.

He will face Italian Luciano Darderi in round two.

Oliver Tarvet

And last but not least is world No733 Oliver Tarvet.

The 21-year-old from St Albans, currently a student at the University of San Diego, came through three rounds of qualifying to make his Wimbledon debut - and promptly cruised past Swiss opponent Leandro Riedi, who is ranked some 200 places above him.

An almighty test awaits Tarvet in the second round, though, in the form of world No 2 Alcaraz. The Spanish star did show a hint of vulnerability in his five-set round one thriller, so there’s a chance the young Brit can make life difficult for him.
