Where you can get a covid test in Sefton over Christmas and in December

A series of drive-through coronavirus testing centres has returned to Sefton for December, with testing available over the Christmas period.

Sefton’s infection rate has significantly decreased over the past month, dropping from 286 to 75 coronavirus cases per 100,000 residents and with 206 new infections recorded between November 26 and December 2.

But while the number is moving in the right direction, health chiefs continue to urge people to follow the new Tier 2 rules closely to prevent cases from spiking again.

Mass Covid-19 testing will get underway across Sefton and the rest of the Liverpool City Region from next week.

More details about the roll out and where people can get tested are expected soon, but Sefton residents who don’t have symptoms of the virus can currently get tested at Aintree Racecourse.

For people with coronavirus symptoms, there are walk-through test centres at Southport and Bootle town halls, Crosby Library, and Netherton Activity Centre.

Walk-through test centres are open every day from 8am to 8pm, providing “easy access to tests” for people who do not have access to a car and for those who have symptoms and should not travel by public transport.
