Where you can fly to from Manchester Airport for some half term sun this October

As the nights draw in and the weather turns chillier, your mind might be wandering to somewhere with a bit more sunshine.

Now that travel restrictions are being eased it’s the perfect time to book a flight and escape to a warmer climate this October half term.

With a simplified traffic light system in place, more airlines are relaunching and increasing their services to a variety of destinations.

If you’re looking for a quick getaway then there’s options within Europe and for those who are feeling a little bit more adventurous there are services operating to the Caribbean and the Middle East.

Here is a round up of destinations you can travel to from Manchester Airport, all prices were correct at the time of writing.

Turkey

October is the perfect time to visit Turkey as there’s no longer the intense heat of the summer but temperatures are still a pleasant 20C.

The country itself is a melting pot of cultures where East meets West, so there’s plenty to see and do.

Jet2 Holidays are offering packages to Dalaman and Antalya, with prices starting at £599 per person, based on two adults and one child sharing.

There are also deals with easyJet Holidays and TUI, to Antalya and Sarigerme respectively.

Home to some jaw-dropping beaches and vivid-blue waters, Greece is the perfect getaway for sunseekers.

With every island having its own unique characteristics, there’s lots of options.

TUI has an all-inclusive deal for seven nights to Kos, from £936 per person based on two adults and two children sharing.

There’s also packages to Crete available with Jet2 Holidays.

Spain

A destination beloved by British holidaymakers, favourite destinations including the Costa Del Sol and the Balearics are perfect this time of year.

easyJet Holidays has offers to Majorca, starting from £410 per person and to Tenerife from £614 per person.

Meanwhile TUI has a deal flying to Majorca and Jet2 Holidays have packages to Costa Del Sol and Gran Canaria.

Other destinations which you can fly to from Manchester Airport include the Algarve, with Jet2 Holidays providing a £469 package (per person, based on two adults and one child sharing), and Malta, with easyJet holidays offering a deal for £573 per person.

Barbados

Indulge in tropical island life for a while with a visit to Barbados, and with temperatures averaging 30C in October it’s a far cry from the autumnal weather over here.

Make the most of the relaxed pace of Caribbean life by spending your time relaxing on the stunning beaches or if you fancy something more upbeat have a go at some of the water sports on offer.

Virgin Atlantic has all-inclusive and self-catering packages available, with the latter starting at £803 per person.

Aer Lingus also has a direct service from Manchester to Barbados starting from October 20, from as little as £209 per person each way.

Dubai

Dubai (SUNDAY MIRROR)

If you’re looking for a more luxurious experience and have a bigger budget then a holiday in Dubai might be for you.

Temperatures range from the mid twenties to the mid thirties in October, so it’s ideal weather for the beach or to visit one of their waterparks.

Emirates Holidays have deals at four star and five star hotels, starting at £1,299 per person for five nights.
