Where was Bloodlands on BBC One filmed?

Bloodlands is the latest crime thriller to hit the BBC this year.

James Nesbitt leads the cast in the role of DCI Tom Brannick and the four-part series begins on Sunday, February 21, at 9pm.

The series follows DCI Brannick, who is on the hunt for the legendary assassin known as "Goliath", after a car containing a possible suicide note is pulled out of Strangford Lough.

It is the first drama from newly formed production company HTM Television, whose executive producers include Jed Mercurio, of Line of Duty, Bodyguard and Bodies fame.

Filming for Bloodlands took place in and around Belfast, Strangford Lough and the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland.

It was filmed in early 2020, pre-pandemic, but it wasn't the easiest of locations due to the winter weather.

"Bloodlands was mainly filmed in the rural area around Strangford Lough, a rugged and beautiful location that serves as the eerie setting for the series," Mercurio said.

"It looks amazing on camera but the weather can be quite challenging at times. We all made sure we had our thermals and waterproofs with us."
