Where to watch Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct and what could be in store

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…for Nintendo fans. While every games publisher under the sun has its own streams these days, Nintendo Directs still get the most hype behind them for their consistent quality and surprise reveals. Just about every month since the start of summer, a rumour has popped up that one is coming “soon”, and the time is finally upon us.

We’ll tell you exactly when the stream starts, where you can watch it, and a little of what you can expect the stream to have in store this time around.

Nintendo Direct start time and where to watch

The stream will be starting at 7am PT/10am ET, and you can watch it on the official Nintendo YouTube channel. Other regions will have versions in their respective languages on their dedicated channels. The one exception to this is the UK as, out of respect for the national mourning period, the Direct isn’t being streamed, and it will instead be uploaded at 4pm BST to the Nintendo UK YouTube channel.

However, it is still possible for UK fans to watch it live, they will just have to watch the US version of the stream on the main channel, which starts at 3pm BST.

What to expect in today’s Nintendo Direct

While Nintendo is very good at keeping secrets and surprises, it’s unlikely that anything huge or unexpected will be revealed this time around. Nintendo already has a lot of big games lined up for the rest of the year and into 2023, so it’s more likely we’ll be getting updates on those rather than anything new.

Although something like a follow-up to Mario Odyssey would be brilliant, it’s more probable that this game will cover things like Bayonetta 3, Mario + Rabbids, and Mario Kart 8. It’s also expected that some details will be fleshed out surrounding Splatoon 3’s post-launch content, and maybe the release date of the second wave of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC.

One thing that probably won’t be there is Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as a new trailer was released just last week for those games. So fans hoping for the Starter Pokémon evolutions will have to be patient.

The big one fans are hoping to hear more from is the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Although it isn’t coming until 2023, there is a strong possibility that Nintendo will have some gameplay to show off this time – or at least a new trailer.
