Comedy-thriller Promising Young Woman is one of eight films in the running for Best Picture at the 93nd Annual Academy Awards.
Released last year, the film is also up for four other prizes including Best Director for Emerald Fennell and Best Actress for the lead Carey Mulligan.
Review aggregator RottenTomatoes awards the film a 90% rating based on over 350 reviews. It has already received a multitude to date, including Outstanding British Film and Best Original Screenplay at the BAFTAs.

Carey plays the role of Cassie Thomas. Years before the film gets underway, Cassie had seen a classmate raped without a subsequent investigation by either the school or the legal system.
Seeking her own interpretation of revenge, Cassie now spends her nights trawling bars, feigning drunkenness, allowing men to take her to their homes only to reveal her sobriety when they try to take advantage.
