Where to watch Peacemaker: Finally DC's most popular superhero show yet has a UK home

In a tidal wave of Marvel films and TV of the last year or so, one fresh and surprising glimmer of DC-related goodness was last summer's James Gunn-helmed Suicide Squad movie.

The big-budget, darkly comic return of DC's most infamous antiheroes saw Margot Robbie reprise her role as Harley Quinn alongside Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Sylvester Stallone in a 'still feels half like a weird post-cheese eating dream' turn as King Shark, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2 and John Cena as Peacemaker.

The ex-WWE wrestler wowed critics and audiences alike with his funny and at times brutal performance as the man fighting for peace no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

And now Cena has reunited with director Gunn for a whole new series exploring Peacemaker and his rather unique take on life.

The series, simply titled Peacemaker, launched on HBO Max in the US on January 13, with early reaction to it being largely positive.

James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of the series, and took on directing duties for five, and it's fair to say he's very keen for viewers to see the show in all its glory.

Today it's been announced finally that Peacemaker has a home in the UK - from March 22 it will be available on Sky and Now.

And fans are in for a treat.

As well as Cena, the cast includes ex-X-Files alum Robert Patrick, Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma and Chukwudi Iwuji.

The tone is dark and very sweary but very funny and ideal for anyone whose appetite has been whetted by Guardians of Justice, which launched on Netflix last week.

If you can't wait until March 22, Suicide Squad is currently available on Amazon Prime Video in the meantime, so UK audiences can remind themselves of exactly what they have to look forward to.
