Where to watch Nicola Sturgeon's Covid update as officials mull over vaccine passport rules

Nicola Sturgeon will deliver a Covid briefing later today as Scotland enters into its second day of level zero restrictions.

The country’s level of Covid curbs was given a downgrade yesterday as the number of new virus infections continues to fall.

Sturgeon will address the public on the state of the health crisis across Scotland in a press conference from Edinburgh.

It is expected that the First Minister will touch upon the controversial issue of vaccine passports in her statement today.

Boris Johnson yesterday announced plans for people in England to show proof of their double vaccination before entering a nightclub from September.

The Tory Prime Minister’s announcement of the measure has already been criticised by opposition MPs and backbenchers from his own party.

A decision on the use of vaccine passports for large indoor gatherings is yet to be made by the Scottish Government.

When can I watch Nicola Sturgeon’s Covid update?

The First Minister will take to the podium at St Andrew’s House in the capital from 12.15pm this afternoon.

Sturgeon made the announcement on the briefing to followers on Twitter earlier today.
