Where to get NHS coronavirus posters which advise public on how to control the outbreak

NHS posters offering advice to workers have been released to try and help contain the spread of coronavirus.

The relatively new virus originally broke out in Wuhan, China last month and thousands of people are currently affected by the illness in the city.

Since it broke out, it has spread across the globe and 40 cases have been confirmed in the UK.

With coronavirus, also known as Covid-19 , being so new, the NHS doesn't know exactly how it spreads from person to person so has issued advice to maximise the possibility of controlling the outbreak.

New posters that can be printed and put in work places and other public areas have been issued by the NHS and the government.

One poster details how long germs can live on surfaces for and what steps to take in order to protect your health.

In order to avoid catching or spreading the illness, people are advised to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing - using your hands will not prevent the spreading of germs.

It's also advised to bin the tissue and then wash your hands with soap and water or with a sanitiser gel.

This will kill the germs.

The second poster is much more detailed and offers information on how to manage a suspected case of coronavirus.

It provides a flow chart with relevant steps to take depending on whether a person has travelled from an affected country or whether they've been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for coronavirus in the last 14 days.

The poster provides information on primary care and explains how to isolate the patient and what to do to protect yourself, too.
