Prior to making their biggest splash of the offseason with the signing of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the Tennessee Titans’ offense was rather uninspiring on paper.
The offense was not only among the cheapest units in the league, Tennessee essentially had no real veteran pass-catchers who you could point to as the clear alpha in the room.
Thankfully, Hopkins eventually made the decision to join the Titans, which then properly placed the rest of Tennessee’s pass-catchers into the roles for which they’re currently best suited.
DHop’s addition also gave the Titans a bump in where they rank in terms of offensive spending. According to Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis, the Titans are entering the season tied for 20th in offensive spending, which is up a handful of spots from where they were before adding Hopkins.

Again, this is based on cap money allocated to offensive players. Hopkins’ cap hit comes in at a very reasonable $3.66 million thanks to how his contract is structured.
Also impacting this number — albeit slightly — was the recent addition of offensive lineman Chris Hubbard, who will cost $1.09 million against the cap.
