Where the Bengals stand heading into Day 3 of the NFL Draft

The Cincinnati Bengals are through two rounds of the 2019 NFL draft to interesting results.

The Zac Taylor era has had a wild start so far, with high-character guys the emphasis and at least one trade back netting the Bengals even more Day 3 picks.

Ahead of Saturday kicking off, the Bengals are scheduled to make 10 selections, including six in the sixth round.

Day 2 Picks: Drew Sample, TE, Washington (52); Germaine Pratt, LB, NC State (72)

The Bengals created a buzz with Sample in the second round in large part because few expected him to come off the board that high. Pratt was more widely praised and, like Sample, should have a big role right out of the gates.

Day 3 Selections

Round 4, No. 110

Round 4, No. 125

Round 5, No. 149

Round 6, No. 183

Round 6: No. 183

Round 6: No. 198

Round 6: No. 210

Round 6: No. 211

Round 6: No. 213

Round 7: No. 223

The Needs

The Bengals can’t really go wrong with double-digit selections on Day 3. A few of those picks could get traded to let the front office move around and make sure they get the players they want.

Those players figure to come at linebacker, offensive line and pass rusher. The team also needs wideout and running back depth.

Round 4, especially, figures to net the Bengals players who can help on a rotational basis right away, so watch for linebackers and defensive linemen there.
