Where's my Google Mini? Spotify customers left without 'free gift' after flash giveaway

Hundreds of Spotify customers claim they've been let down by the streaming giant, after being promised a free Google Nest Mini earlier this month.

Premium customers discovered they qualified for a complimentary device a month ago, after an online promotion went viral on social media.

The offer - which was withdrawn within 36-hours due to significant demand - meant many would get a free Google Nest Mini worth £49.

It was available to both new and existing customers, but with limited eligibility for those with Premium Family, Duo and Student accounts.

However, almost a month later, customers claim the music giant has gone rogue on them.

The promotion went viral on TikTok on September 2 (Daily Record)

Hundreds of Premium customers have taken to social media to say they have not heard anything from Spotify since redeeming the offer and entering their personal details online.

"Has anyone actually received their google nest mini from Spotify yet?" one customer wrote on Twitter.

Another said: "@Spotify @SpotifyUK @SpotifyCares 23 days since my order for the @googlenest mini was confirmed and I’m yet to receive even an email update. How do I chase this?."

Some customers who upgraded for the offer now say they've been left out of pocket on the back of it.

"This email for a free Google nest mini isn't coming is it @Spotify @SpotifyUK @SpotifyCares? Been like 3 weeks now and I upgraded to "family" to be eligible as well."

If you are a Premium customer, you would have been able to claim the device by logging into your Spotify account in early September.

The deal appeared on the homepage, and customers were told to follow the instructions to claim their 'freebie'.

The offer was pulled due to high demand with many customers saying it was already too late to nab one by the time they went online.

Spotify declined to comment on the customer concerns.

Some other social media users, however, have been lucky enough to receive their complimentary gift.

One customer advised other applicants to check their junk email box as his Spotify confirmation had accidentally been sent to his spam folder.
