Where NFC West sits in Touchdown Wire’s divisional power rankings

With the start of NFL training camps still a month away, pundits around the league are making their best guesses in their preseason power rankings.

USA TODAY Sports’ Touchdown Wire, who recently took a look at the AFC teams, is now taking a shot at ranking the NFC’s divisions. The NFC West, home of the Seahawks, lands at just No. 3.

“The division with the defending NFC champions somehow comes in third in the NFC Power Rankings,” writes Michael Colangelo. “We know about the Rams and their explosive offense. Seattle always finds a way to win and Russell Wilson has to be mentioned as an MVP candidate every year now.”

“The Niners have to make moves this year,” Colangelo continues. “They haven’t done much to prove my faith in them, but they have enough young talent. Then there’s the Cardinals. At least the Cardinals will put up a ton of points even if they are bad.”

Colangelo has the NFC South earning the top spot, with the NFC North on its heels. After the West, the NFC East sits at the bottom of the conference.
