Where more than 750 new coronavirus cases have been recorded across Nottinghamshire in past 24 hours

A total of 754 new coronavirus cases have been recorded across Nottinghamshire in the past 24 hours, marking yet another rise compared to previous days.

As of January 1, 2021, a total of 181 new cases have been recorded in Nottingham, up from 176 in the previous 24 hours and 162 the day before that.

There have now been 20,159 cases since records began, with the city surpassing 20,000 cases for the first time.

In the wider county there were a further 573 cases in the past 24 hours, up from 524 as of December 31.

There have now been 31,529 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

The latest data released by the Government comes as the "majority" of Nottinghamshire remained indoors and adhered to the rules on New Year's Eve, with police handing out fines to a select few groups who decided to host parties.

Areas such as Ashfield and Mansfield have recorded a significant increase in new cases.

Mansfield recorded 108 new cases in the past 24 hours while Ashfield had another 133.

Ashfield - 5,032 (increase of 133)

Bassetlaw - 4,941 (increase of 30)

Broxtowe - 4,245 (increase of 61)

Gedling - 4,792 (increase of 85)

Mansfield - 4,022 (increase of 108)

Newark and Sherwood - 4,116 (increase of 75)

Nottingham - 20,159 (increase of 181)

Rushcliffe - 4,273 (increase of 81)

Total: 754
