Where more temporary cycle lanes have been installed

Orange and white bollards have been installed on more roads around Bristol to keep walkers and cyclists safe while they need to social distance.

The city council is introducing new measures to open up road space, with Park Row and Perry Road among the latest streets to benefit.

This month, Bristol Bridge and Baldwin Street have been closed to through-traffic, while more segregated cycle lanes are being created in Counterslip and Victoria Street

The cycling infrastructure is also being improved in Mina Road in St Werburgh’s, Merchants Road Bridge, Lewins Mead and Stokes Croft.

Segregated cycle lanes have been installed on Park Row and around The Triangle area of Bristol (Jon Kent)

In September and October the council is planning to create segregated cycle lanes in Cumberland Road.

It has promised to consult with residents, businesses and ward councillors to see how long these changes will be in place and whether they should be permanent.

Hundreds of suggestions have been submitted to the council for new active travel measures to get Bristol moving, with calls for cycle lanes, road closures, wider pavements and controls to stop vehicles speeding.
