Where Leeds United and West Brom should stand in the promotion race ahead of Easter Monday

The COVID-19 pandemic has put a halt to Leeds United's promotion push.

Following a run of five-straight wins and no goals conceded, the Whites' bid to return to the Premier League was firmly back on track after a January wobble.

With a seven-point gap separating Leeds and Fulham, Marcelo Bielsa's table-toppers have their fate in their own hands, especially given the Cottagers still have to travel to Elland Road in the final nine games of the season.

The latest update from the EFL came from chairman Rick Parry, who instructed all clubs not to return to training until May 16 and revealing the football calendar will need 56 days to be completed.

The Easter weekend should have seen Stoke City arrive at Elland Road on Good Friday, with a trip to Swansea City on matchday 42.

Although the table remains unaltered with 37 matches completed, the Pools Panel have continued to predict the results in the Championship.

Stoke-On-TrentLive have also adjudicated on the handful which the Pools Panel left off their long list, to give us with a full table, accurate as of Easter Sunday, with 41 games in the bag.

The results indicate 10 points for Leeds from their four unplayed matches, which has seen them surrender top spot to West Brom.

The all-important gap to third-place Fulham, however, has grown to 10 points, which means if Leeds matched the Cottagers' result when they face Swansea City on Easter Monday, in this hypothetical world, they would be promoted to the Premier League with three games to spare.

In the battle for the play-offs, it's Millwall that have taken advantage to leap up to fifth, with Fulham the only side really secure of a place in the end-of-season lottery.

Nottingham Forest and Brentford make up the top-six, sandwiched either side of Milwall, with Preston North End, Cardiff City and Bristol City still in the hunt.
