There's no arguing that the past five months have been a little short on fun day trips out.
There's also no arguing that not much beats a trip to the beach on a brilliantly hot day in Scotland's biggest city.
It's such a rare occasion for us Glaswegians to get the opportunity to feel the sand between our toes as we soak up the sunshine of a hot summer's day.
But seeing as we've been enjoying something of a heatwave, and with lockdown easing measures giving us a bit more (socially distanced) freedom, we're getting a few more chances than usual.
There are the usual hot spots near the city which sun seekers flock, places like Irvine, Troon, Ayr and even up to the banks of Loch Lomond.
But, did you know the closest sandy beach to Glasgow is likely to be a wee bit quieter than those, and is pretty beautiful to boot!
According to Visit Scotland, Lunderston Bay at Inverkip is the shortest distance away from the city, just 30.2 miles away via the M8.
Compared to Troon (33 miles away) and Irvine (30.9) and there isn't that much in it, distance wise, but wouldn't it be great to avoid the hordes and try somewhere different?
Situated in the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, this is a popular place for locals and visitors alike who can enjoy the bountiful coastal walks, adventure play area and picnic sites.
There are also breathtaking views of the Cowal Peninsula and free parking to boot.
But if you do decide to check out this beach - or any of the others mentioned - be sure to maintain social distancing while you're there!
