A new four-part TV series may only be one episode in but viewers are already gripped.
The Drowning is Channel 5's latest offering which tells the story of a grief-stricken mother consumed by the hope her missing son could still be alive.
Jill Halfpenny takes the lead as bereaved mother Jodie, with Rupert Penry-Jones, Cody Molka and Jonas Armstrong also taking roles in the series.
It began on Monday night (February 1) and airs across four consecutive nights at 9pm.
But the first episode has already left viewers wondering where it was filmed.
Most of the series was filmed in and around Dublin, Ireland, before the coronavirus pandemic.
Lough Dan in particular, just outside of Dublin, was used for the tragic lake scenes.
Executive producer Jason Maza told the Express that filming in Ireland was ideal for his vision for the series.
"We wanted locations that people may not have seen before and that needs beautiful architecture, incredible vistas and Dublin offered all of that," he said.
"It gave us the opportunity to really push the cinematic boundaries, which we would have struggled to achieve with the resources and time we had in England."
