Where is the 149th Open Championship being held in 2020?

The dust maybe barely settling on Royal Portrush, but already golfing eyes are turning to the 149th Open Championship.

Shane Lowry claimed the Claret Jug on Sunday, winning his first ever major.

But where will he defend it in 2020?

Next year The Open will return to Royal St George’s for the first time since 2011.

That year it was an emotional Darren Clarke who became Champion Golfer of the Year.

Located on the Kent coastline, Royal St George’s is another wonderful course that boasts the spectacular 6th hole ‘The Maiden’ which will be a popular viewing spot as spectators line the towering dunes which surround the green.

The year after that St Andrews will host the 150th Open, with Royal Liverpool taking the honours in 2021.
