Our Girl is back on our screens, with Michelle Keegan reprising her role as Georgie for the hit BBC drama for one last time.
The gripping show follows the story of medic Georgie as she serves in the British Army, serving on tours to the likes of Afghanistan, Syria and Nigeria.
However, the series wasn't filmed at these destinations. Although the cast and crew did head abroad, they mainly filmed in other locations serving as stand-ins.
In fact, Our Girl was predominantly filmed in South Africa , which provided backdrops for scenes set in Afghanistan, Syria and Kenya.
For example, the Karoo Desert 's landscapes served as the desert backdrops for Afghanistan scenes. Sitting just under 300km away from Cape Town, the desert was ideal for its remote setting, with some of the production crew camping nearby during peak filming seasons.
Other locations used for filming in South Africa included Cape Town , as well as the nearby wine region of Franschhoek which is renowned for its beautiful mountainous landscape.
For the third season, the Nepal Tour , the cast and crew were able to film some scenes in Nepal itself.
Dolahka was where most of the village scenes were filmed, while Kathmandu also offered up some breathtaking backdrops.
Oh, and as for the scenes set in Manchester? They weren't actually filmed in the UK city. Because the cast and crew were abroad, it was easier to recreate the city while away.
So instead of Manchester, they used Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia using various tricks including a rain machine to give the appearance that they were back in Britain.
However, that's not to say there wasn't any filming carried out in the UK - and when the schedule has allowed, some Manchester scenes were actually shot in, well, Manchester.
Other UK filming locations were used for season four, including Swansea in Wales, as well as East Ham in London.
