Where is Ohio State in ESPN’s latest, very early NCAA Tournament projections?

With everything going on, college basketball seems a decade away. But it’s not. Hopefully, things clear up and we get to see all the madness with the NCAA Tournament next year.

ESPN’s resident bracket expert Joe Lunardi gets all eyes on his bracketology pieces around February and March, but publishes NCAA Tournament projections throughout the year. He just released one looking ahead to the next time we have a chance to have our brackets busted.

You may be wondering where he has Ohio State looking, and so were we. That’s why you are here after all. According to Lunardi, the Buckeyes are a No. 5 seed in the South region, matching up with No. 12 seed Loyola Chicago.

If that transpires, it would mean the Buckeyes will have a pretty similar season to what it had this past year, but that, of course, is all speculation.

So who are the No. 1 seeds? According to Lunardi, his crystal ball has Gonzaga in the West, Villanova in the East, Virginia in the Midwest, and Baylor in the South.

The Big Ten leads all conferences with nine teams projected in the tournament. Aside from Ohio State, the others include Michigan State (2 seed), Wisconsin (2), Iowa (4), Michigan (6), Rutgers (6), Indiana (7), Purdue (8), and Illinois (9).

Now, the chances of this being remotely close to correct are slim to none, but it’s still fun to talk about.
