Where is Mouth of the Tyne festival and how do you get there? Sold out event ready to begin

Tickets were all snapped up long before now and on Thursday evening this year's Mouth of the Tyne festival will kick off.

Huge crowds have seen the likes of Paloma Faith, Beverley Knight, Elbow and James Bay all perform in recent years and this year's Mouth of the Tyne lineup , which includes local lad Sam Fender and 80s legend Rick Astley, helping the event to be a complete sell out.

It will be the job of North Shields musician Sam to get things going in style - in spite of the awful weather forecast - on Thursday, with the Hypersonic Missiles singer breaking records for the fastest selling Mouth of the Tyne gig ever.

Where is Mouth of the Tyne festival?

All of the Mouth of the Tyne concerts will take place at Tynemouth Priory.

The best way to get there is by Metro, and the nearest station is Tynemouth. This is on the St James route, which run system wide, calling it at the likes of Pelaw, Gateshead, Central Station, Jesmond, South Gosforth and more.

Parking will be extremely limited in and around Tynemouth Village.
